Testing the weak-equivalence principle near black holes

چکیده

Today we have quite stringent constraints on possible violations of the Weak Equivalence Principle from comparison acceleration test-bodies different composition in Earth's gravitational field. In present paper, propose a test strong field black holes. We construct relativistic reflection model which either massive particles gas accretion disk or photons emitted by may not follow geodesics spacetime. employ our to analyze features NuSTAR spectrum hole binary EXO 1846-031 and constrain two parameters that quantify violation X-ray photons, respectively.

Metric fluctuations and the Weak Equivalence Principle

We describe space–time fluctuations by means of small fluctuations of the metric on a given background metric. From a minimally coupled Klein–Gordon equation we obtain within a weakfield approximation up to second order and an averaging procedure over a finite space–time scale given by the quantum particle in the non–relativistic limit a modified Schrödinger equation. The dominant modification ...

Black Holes and the Holographic Principle

This lecture reviews the black hole information paradox and briefly appraises some proposed resolutions in view of developments in string theory. It goes on to give an elementary introduction to the holographic principle.
